Vladimir Clavijo-Telepnev (Владимир Клавихо-Телепнёв, born 1962, Moscow) is a Russian fine-art and fashion photographer, named a “classic of Russian art photography” by the Moscow House of Photography in 2001.
An artistic lineage
He was born into a Russian-Colombian family: his father, Pedro Clavijo, was a Colombian journalist, and his maternal grandparents, Vladimir and Margarita Telepnev, were painters. He graduated in graphic arts from the Moscow Printing and Publishing Academy in 1986, worked as a photojournalist for Italian, French and Spanish periodicals, and moved into fashion and advertising photography from 1996. Since 2000 he has taught photography at the Faculty of Journalism of Lomonosov Moscow State University, and he has developed painterly printing techniques including an “églomisé” process in photography.
